SEAT DriveApp, an application for Apple CarPlay developed by the car manufacturer SEAT, a part of the Volkswagen Group, transferred vehicle data to the phone when plugged into the USB port. This proprietary data communication protocol included information such as acceleration, braking, gear shifting, consumption, and speed.

The mobile phone utilized this data to assess the user’s driving efficiency with on-device algorithms, displaying relevant statistics on the device and within the vehicle’s infotainment system via Apple CarPlay.

Task

I worked as Mobile Engineer for the CarPlay mobile app of SEAT. I was involved in new features development and bug fixing, together with many other talented colleagues.
